Dr. Neamtu graduated from the Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville and then went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Neamtu completed his residency in ophthalmology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and then completed a two-year medical and surgical vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania. During Dr. Neamtu’s fellowship, he particularly enjoyed teaching and training residents, earning him the Resident’s Fellow Teacher award. Dr. Neamtu’s research interests include diagnostic testing and imaging modalities for inflammatory and infectious diseases of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Neamtu is particularly excited to be back in the Louisville area as it marks a return to the town where he grew up.
