Kristopher Pugh, MD

Kristopher-Pugh-M-D

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Butler University, Dr. Pugh earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Clarian Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, before receiving his residency training at the University of South Carolina, where he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Pugh and his wife returned home to Indiana in 2007 to join Dr. Black’s Eye Associates. He strives to tailor surgical outcomes to meet each patient’s lifestyle needs. When Dr. Pugh isn’t busy helping his patients see life clearly, he loves spending time with his wife and four children, traveling when ever possible and endlessly cheering on the Chicago Cubs.

What the staff wants you to know about Dr. Kris Pugh:

We were all excited when Dr. Pugh and his wife, Dr. Jessica Pugh, joined Dr. Black’s Eye Associates. The practice added two amazing doctors who both care greatly about their patients. We have felt blessed to watch their family grow. When they joined the practice, the Drs. Pugh had two young daughters, and since then have added two sons. Everyone enjoys this dynamic family of six!

W.B., Dr. Pugh’s technician, says: “I am pretty sure that I knew the baby’s name before he was born, because Dr. Pugh let it slip once. He says that he didn’t! I will never forget how happy he was the day he found out he was having a boy. I am sure that three girls in the house were enough.”

J.M., technician trainer, says: “Dr. Pugh listens to intently that it’s like he memorizes what his patients say. He can recall details about patients years after removing their cataracts. It’s amazing, especially since he often cannot remember where he left his pen!”

C.H., on-call nurse, says: “I love it when Dr. Pugh is on call. I cannot tell you how many times he has come in to the office to see patients that could have waited, just because he knew they were uneasy. He told me once that leaving a patient worried for a day or two seems like torture. He cares so much.”
